obsession

Danessa Myrick's Obsession Twin Flames multichrome pigment ($ 26.00 for 0.085 oz.) Is a lighter, slightly translucent copper-gold base that transitions from copper to lighter, warmer gold to green-gold to darker green, paired with a smooth, metallic finish. The liquid eye shadow had an intense pigmentation that was applied evenly to bare skin when applied with a fingertip or a synthetic brush, as the applicator provided tended to apply the product too heavily.

The texture was light, smooth, and had a good amount of slip. The latter aspect was why it was better to apply less and build / add more when needed. While it took longer to dry, I was able to flatten the product again as it dries so that once it set it was even and lasted for 10 hours.

You should have "high pigment" in "one stroke" without "wrinkles, no failures and no streaks" in liquid form. The brand says, "apply directly to the applicator," although I totally disagree. I preferred to pick up the product from the applicator with a brush or brush the product on the back of my hand and then pick it up with a brush or my fingertips.

The application was very streaky to work with the product and too much was often applied. Often times, when too much shade was applied it looked particularly uneven – both in terms of coverage and in terms of the physical thickness / texture of the product (this would be more prone to the emphasis on the lid structure). The lighter shades were sometimes sharper, while the blacks were more intense and easier to use as a full lid paint.

In general, the more white or translucent based shades were better than dye detergents or layered over something else. I wouldn't call them "high pigment" in most cases.

The consistency was runny, light, and a little thin with moderate creaminess. There was enough slippage that excessive application could result in fine lines as it set. So I always made sure to buff and mix the product a little just before it set (especially along my inner lid area). This was especially noticeable when I tried to use it on my lower lash line, and I had better luck applying it with a pencil brush and fading it out for more even drying.

It melted nicely along the edges, but I would probably use a powder eyeshadow to blend and soften the edges (either before / after or after applying this product). They had quick drying and a slightly tacky but fairly transfer resistant finish. It was a little clingy, but it didn't feel heavy.

They lasted between nine and ten hours before wrinkling slightly, but I haven't had any problems with breakdowns, dandruff, etc. over time.

As an indication, I found that the product has a more distinct odor that doesn't add any fragrance, but comes from the formula itself, although I didn't notice it while wearing it.

Angel heart

Danessa Myricks Angel Heart Twin Flames Multichrome Pigment ($ 26.00 for 0.085 oz.) Has a bright white base with a fine pearl that changed from green to peach gold to pink to cooler pink. It was one of the least shimmery / metallic colors in the range.

It had a semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a more fluid, creamier consistency, which took a little longer to dry, so it had to be smoothed out again when it set to avoid settling. Once it solidified, it was very durable; After 10 hours of wear, there were very few wrinkles.

Lover

Danessa Myricks Lover Twin Flames Multichrome Pigment ($ 26.00 for 0.085 oz.) Has a blackened base with a multi-colored sheen that goes from plum to chocolate bronze to copper to gold, paired with a smooth sheen. It was copiously pigmented in a single coat, although I felt it was better to use a separate applicator as the applicator that came with it is often over-applied.

The formula was more pliable, so over-application resulted in a less forgiving experience where it was better to remove some than keep trying to spread or redistribute them. It was applied evenly when I used a fingertip or brush and dried it off with a moderate amount of play time, allowing me to soften and diffuse the edges without speeding up my mixing game. I had to polish and smooth my inner lid area as it stuck in the lines as it dried out, but when I did it was fine. The product held well for 10 hours before wrinkling slightly.
