Fitbit could be working on a luxury fitness tracker
Fitbit is a company known for their fitness trackers and smartwatches, and it seems they may have something new on the way. This comes from a report by WiFuture.de, which claims that the company could develop a new fitness tracker called Fitbit Luxe, a “luxury” fitness tracker.
We’re not sure what’s so luxurious about this tracker. The report claims that a stainless steel case with an OLED display will be used. That being said, we’re not sure what other features might be required to qualify it as “luxurious”. However, it has a pretty simple and elegant design based on the leaked renders, which could make it perfect for an evening out.
Not much is known about its features, but apparently it offers GPS, a heart rate monitor, and is also waterproof for those who want to go swimming with it. At the moment there’s no word on when the Fitbit Luxe will be announced, but the press renders kind of look final, which suggests we might hear about it soon.
It will also be interesting to see if the device can use Google’s Wear operating system, especially if Google purchased Fitbit, but it doesn’t seem like it based on the user interface.
