Samsung’s next smartwatch could tip Tizen in favor of Wear OS

While many other manufacturers have been more than happy to step aboard Google’s wearable Wear OS platform, Samsung has been trying to forge ahead on their own with Tizen. So far, Samsung has been quite successful with this as its smartwatches are actually very popular.

However, if a recent tweet from Leakster Ice Universe is to be adopted, that could change. According to the tweet, they claim the company could adopt Wear OS for Samsung’s next smartwatch instead. Now we can’t be sure if this is a one time deal or if this could be an indication that the company is looking to move from Tizen to Wear OS.

Samsung’s new watch will replace Tizen with Android.

It is entirely possible that Samsung will continue to make two types of wearables, but at the same time it feels like they are spreading thinly. Wear OS has a bigger following since it is based on Android, but it would also mean Samsung would have more competition.

That being said, other rumors have also claimed that the company’s next smartwatch could come with a non-invasive method of measuring the user’s blood sugar levels. That could be a pretty exciting development if it’s true.
