The World Health Organization holds a briefing on the coronavirus pandemic on Monday after Moderna announced that preliminary data from Phase 3 studies show the vaccine is more than 94% effective at preventing Covid-19.
The announcement follows similar news from Pfizer's late Covid-19 vaccine trial last week, as drug companies around the world race against the clock to find ways to prevent the virus, which according to more than 54, 4 million people has disseminated data that was compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Last month, Moderna announced that it is in talks with the WHO-supported COVAX initiative about a tiered price proposal for the vaccine, which it tentatively names mRNA-1273.
